Heartsong

Hosta ‘Heartsong’ came to me from Hallson Gardens in 2006 and has shaped up into a beautiful little plant.  I’ve got a photo from when I first planted it and a recent one to compare that I’ll have to upload later.  Heartsong is a sport of Hosta ‘Candy Hearts’ and is a small to medium sized plant with a sweet little heart shaped leaf.  The leaf is a rich green with a thin creamy white edge.  It has been an average grower but I have to admit it was in a neglected garden last year.  If I hadn’t been so busy at work I would have been a better plant parent but this year - having a new job with less travel - I’ll be able to keep up with the summer watering during the worst droughts.  I’ve also moved this plant closer to where we can sit and stare at it near the pond.  Sweet!  Wish me luck.

From 2006 just after planting (like moments after):
