Carnival
Carnival is a lovely medium to large hosta with a dark green leaf and a gold to cream band. It creates a lovely, disheveled, rumpled looking mound with a bold leaf size and color. I purchased mine as an established nursery plant at Dambly’s Garden Center in 2006. This plant was chosen on the same trip that we picked up Big Daddy. It was the nicest plant of the several that were there. We loved the laundry pile look of the leaves. I think this one will mature into a spectacular plant and it’s been looking great ever since I first stuck it in the ground.
This plant has a super cute plant marker – a beaded, painted bell put with copper wire on a copper post.
From 2006 first planting, the leaves look much less mature than they do once grown outside of its pot:

From 2007 in the berry garden. The leaves are really showing the mature crinkling and wrinkling. Totally adorable:
