While I was at Hosta College in 2007 I was determined NOT to get any hosta that I would have to attempt to keep alive until spring. This particular hosta attacked me in the vendor area and forced me to purchase it. I think it had a gun.
To start with… speckles! I’m a sucker for speckles. Alley Oop is a small sized plant. The leaf is a speckled white field with deep green border, speckles and streaks. It’s a real looker and I’ve managed not to kill it! Alley Oop is a Hosta ‘Fortunei Aoki’ sport and I acquired mine in 2007 from Jim’s Hostas.
