Allegan Fog

Hosta ‘Allegan Fog’ is a speckled hosta, my favorite kind!  It’s a pretty vigorous grower and the misty speckling sticks around for most of the season for me.  Allegan Fog is a Fortunei Aurea hybrid and it has a twisty, wavy leaf that will remind you of an undulatta.

Amber Tiara

Here is a pick I took of Amber Tiara this morning.  It’s still early in the season but the color is just irresistable.

Amber Tiara

Amber Tiara is a small, gold hosta with interesting white and gold speckles on the leaves.  Mid-winter web shopping led me to this little gem.  I’ve got two and the one in the front garden is doing the best.  The color was described as “very striking” and I agree.  I bought them in 2006 and they are looking better and better each year.

From August 2006 the plant located in the concrete garden is showing some seasonal wear and tear:

This photo is from May 2007 and is the plant that is located in the front garden.  You’ve got to agree that it’s a pretty brilliant plant, eh?

August Moon

I got this plant in 2006 from Bridgewood Gardens.  For the life of me I have no idea where it is in the garden.  This is a challenge for 2008!  I must identify those unmarked hostas!  Luckily I bury markers so by digging a few holes I may be able to figure out the puzzle.  Wish me luck.
